How can we sell ugly or damaged produce in markets?

Problem: Food waste in the US is about 35% of the supply. I was part of a small team that identified a problem with produce waste in grocery stores and focused on a product to solve it.
Research: We approached the research through using the produce scale as a platform for engaging the consumer about food waste. By investigating the scales at 3 different supermarkets and observing the physical/digital user-experiences enabled a greater understanding.
